I survived my first full week at my new job! It was very hectic, with there being so much for me to learn right now, but I absolutely love how interesting it is. It’s very rewarding to work around such motivated and successful people all day.
I am also loving being able to wear jeans every day. Of course, I still have to look professional. So I’ve decided to dedicate Fridays to going through what I wore during the week and discuss the outfits.
One of my favorite looks is blazers with jeans, because I love the mix of the professional and casual together. This week, that was the main look I was feeling. I broke out the blazers and paired them with my nice jeans for a clean business casual look. I invest in my jeans because I love for them to fit me well and be comfortable. I’ve come to discover that cheap denim is much more rigid and doesn’t fit nearly as well. I will gladly spend more for a better, more flattering fit. Plus, they don’t stretch out and they last forever!
My favorite brands right now are Liverpool, which I was introduced to via Stitch Fix, and Paige, which I discovered through blogging. Both fit me very well and are so comfortable you would hardly know you’re wearing jeans. You’ll see a few pairs in this weeks outfits!
I was looking for an outfit that let me wear my new over-the-knee boots, and put this together. The blazer and necklace added the professional touch I needed, and my Liverpool Jeans were so comfortable. Perfect for a Monday. This top is from White House Black Market and I love that it’s different from the traditional horizontal black and white striped tops. Add in my favorite watch to complete the look.
It’s beginning to feel a lot more like Christmas around here!! I wanted to take that feeling with me. This scarf is SO warm and soft, it’s perfect for those cold winder days. These Paige jeans are soft and stretchy, and pair very well with my Ralph Lauren riding boots (similar here). Again, my go-to watch adds a simple touch.
This was probably my favorite look of the week. This Ark & Co. blazer always gets great complements whenever I wear it, and it looks great with jeans or slacks. I got it in one of my SuitableYou boxes, and it’s one of my favorite items I’ve gotten from a clothing box service. It paired great with this Express Portofino blouse and camel heels.
Oh, the Ivory Blazer. Even though it’s so neutral, I struggle to pair it with most things. It went well with this blush pink top; the light tones complement each other really well. Camel heels again for a touch of neutral color, and a pearl necklace to add a touch of class and break up the neckline.
Friday was CHILLY! I wanted to be warm in a turtleneck and comfortable sweater. I have this sweater from Express in this light heather grey and in ivory and I love it. It’s so soft and they go with everything. It’s hard to tell in this picture, but these jeans are dark green, which also made me feel a little Christmassy. It will only keep getting better the closer we get! I wore my silver Michael Kors watch to accent my floral statement necklace which really tied my outfit together. And I love these D’Orsay heels, I have them in 4 colors!
