Work Wear Friday – Dec. 29, 2017

The last Work Wear Friday of 2017 is here!! I can’t believe how quickly this year has gone. Christmas  has come and gone, and here we are already at New Years!

This year, I’m spending New Years in Texas with Jake’s grandparents and cousin. We’re celebrating our engagement at the same time, so it’ll be a lot of fun!

For this week, of course Monday was Christmas, and I also had off on Tuesday. Monday I did dress up to look nice for Christmas but Tuesday was a lazy day. Here we go.

Christmas! This is the only picture I have of my outfit from Monday. I felt like being festive for the day, so I wore this split sleeve pearl embellished top with a bright red Calvin Klein scarf. I got this top from Marshalls for only $13 and I love it! Jake said I looked like I was wearing ornaments, so I felt Christmassy. I wore some of my Paige jeans, and my black OTK Steve Madden boots. Christmas tree earrings that you can’t see, but they matched my scarf. This whole day was spent talking about our engagement and discussing wedding plans!

Tuesday was a lazy day spent entirely in the house. Jake’s older brother is in town from Wisconsin and stayed with us Monday night and we spent the day Tuesday with him and his wife since we don’t see them much. Since they’ve been traveling and Christmas was so busy, we were all more than happy to just cook and hang around the house and watch some movies together. Jake got me these awesome Hue fleece lined leggings for Christmas that are so warm. I wore one of my fleece North Face jackets, and my favorite Lemon slipper socks that are so warm and fuzz lined. Perfect cozy day.

Back to work! I do love my job, so I don’t mind going back after the holiday. This week was pretty lax since most people were out of the office on vacation, so there have just been three of us. Wednesday the high was only 13 degrees, so I knew I needed to be warm. I wore this wonderful Rip Curl turtleneck that kept me nice and toasty. My dark American Eagle jeans looked great in contrast with the ivory top, and I added matching leg warmers for an extra layer under my Ralph Lauren riding boots. My gold leaf necklace and go-to Kate Spade watch added some gold detail.

One of my many gifts from my mom and sister were this maroon turtleneck and floral scarf by A New Day from Target. I love Target’s clothes, I can get in trouble whenever I go in there just by wandering instead of going and getting what I need and getting out. I love this maroon color, and it’s very popular this season. The floral scarf added a nice touch to keep it from being too plain, and I added a long tan cardigan that I’ve had for years. Another pair of Paige jeans and my OTK Steve Madden boots

It’s the end of the week already! I felt like rocking the New Years vibe and wore this Halogen glittery sweater I got from my first Trunk Club box, over top of one of my many Express Portofino shirts. I added a pearl statement necklace to jazz it up a bit, as I felt the neckline was too plain. I love the glitter of this sweater, metallics are very big this fall. I had on Liverpool jeans and my OTK Steve Madden boots. These boots are my go-to’s right now because they’re tall and warm, and go with everything! I did a close up to show the glitter of the top, it’s so cute.
