Work Wear Friday – Mar. 16, 2018

Have you ever gone on a trip and when you finally get to come home it’s pretty much the best day of the week? Maybe not if you’re going somewhere you actually enjoy, but I was in Western Kansas for a business trip this week and let me tell you I could not be more thrilled to be back home and in my own bed.
I found a few things on sale this week that I thought I’d share with you guys. A lot of my looks from this week featured pieces from Express, who is having an awesome sale right now:
30% off all women’s tops, and $25 off when you spend $100 with code 3622.
Please excuse the less than desirable photo quality from my hotel room, I could not get good lighting to happen for the life of me.

I was so excited that it was more on the chilly side on Monday so I could wear this sweater (and it’s on sale!). I sized up to a medium in this for the oversized fit. It’s a perfect Spring color, and I am so in Spring mode already I was like you know what, I’m gonna throw this on with some white jeans and open toe booties and feel bright and cheerful. Both are on sale right now, and both fit TTS, I’m wearing a 26 in the jeans and a 7 shoe. I could possibly do a 6.5 in the shoes if I wanted.
I have still been getting over my cold this week, but I thought “if I don’t feel good at least I can look good”. It helped! I also recently treated myself to new luggage and this Delsey Chatelet set is gorgeous and fits SO MUCH! I fit 4 days of clothes in there; outfits, shoes, PJs, all my travel stuff, and my steamer for my clothes. Crazy. It was definitely a splurge, but well worth it since I’ll be traveling more now.
Day 2 in Salina. It was warmer there than it was in KC so I got to wear my cute new block heels (less expensive here). They were comfortable for the first day and a half but I was ready to wear flats by Thursday haha. I recommend breaking them in more before wearing them for 3 days in a row. But since they’re a block heel they’re definitely better than stilettos. Liverpool jeans, Express portofino blouse and Express black blazer (less expensive here) to feel a bit more put together. I love adding a simple pearl statement necklace to a look like this to dress it up even more.
I was glad I brought this sweater because it was more chilly on Wednesday. This sweater is on MAJOR sale right now, btw. And it’s cashmere! That along with this faux leather jacket kept me nice and warm. I love this jacket and have already worn it so much this year. It fits TTS, I’m wearing an XS. I didn’t bring other shoes besides my heels (less expensive) and the open toe booties I wore Monday, but we went out for drinks and a nice dinner at the Country Club so I felt appropriately dressed for that at least.
Our last day!! We didn’t even go to the office because my boss (and everyone else is my office) went to KU (University of Kansas) and is OBSESSED with March Madness. So we left first thing in the morning to make sure we were back. Which was fiiine with me! I was so happy to go back home.
These jeans are so comfortable and easy to travel in. I got this top off eBay, it’s from White House Black Market and it has a really cute back cutout. Hence the blazer over it. The one I linked in the same one in a Small, mine is an XS. I like that it’s not your typical striped top. I’ve tried to find similar ones for you guys in other sizes but it’s proven difficult so I got as close as I could here and here.
Again, this luggage is AH-MAZING. I got tons of complements on it. I’ve been told by other bloggers that it’s best to clean it with a Magic Eraser if it ever gets dirty, so I put one in there just in case but had no issues. It’s a hard case and not fabric, so I think that helps.
I can’t even tell you how happy I was to wake up in my own bed today! Oliver has not left me alone, despite the fact that we took him to the vet last night to get his last round of shots and schedule his snip snip ?. He won’t be too happy with us after that I’m sure. He did really well so we got him some new toys last night as a treat, which if you watch my Insta-Stories, you saw we went a little overboard haha.
It’s not the best weather today but I didn’t realize it was raining when I decided to wear my Tory Burch sandals today. They run slightly on the smaller side, I will typically get my sandals in a 6.5 but these I definitely needed a 7 since my foot is RIGHT at the edge. I was hoping it’d be nice like it was yesterday. Oh well, at least I’m comfortable and it’s supposed to stop later.
My jeans look black but they’re really just a very dark blue demin. This sweater (similar here and here) is super comfortable and came in my last Stitch Fix box. And I just threw it over a plain black Tee and added my gold leaf necklace. I knew we didn’t have much going on at the office today so I could do more of a casual vibe.
Don’t forget to check out the Express Sale going on right now!
30% off all women’s tops, and $25 off when you spend $100 with code 3622.
What is everyone up to this weekend? It’s St. Patricks Day, and while I’m quite Irish, I plan on just enjoying being back at home with my boys and probably cleaning our apartment haha.
Happy Friday!!
XO,
Dani
